Primary School Site Becomes Class Act

More and more parents and carers today require frequent communication from the schools that their children attend. St Peter’s Catholic Primary School understood the need to communicate in a timely manner and in a professional way with the school’s parents and carers. A previous incarnation of a website had not been maintained, and so a key requirement was that the website could be easily updated by school office staff and teachers without the need to refer to technical staff.
CBSA developed a site in conjunction with the school Head and Office Manager, creating a design that reflects the happy learning environment that St Peters is. The site was developed over a period of time with frequent communication, and working on a development platform, that allowed St Peter’s to review the progress at any time. The site went from initial request to live with only two half hour visits by CBSA, thus removing any drain on the time of the very busy staff of St Peter’s. This was complemented with delivery of training workshops to enable all staff to update the site with information from their class or area of the school. In parallel “How To” videos were produced for site editors, from Governors to The School Children’s Council, so that they could be used for reference as new users joined the school. The site now acts as a portal to provide classroom news, reward recognition, school menus, Governor news, Parent Teacher Association news, and much more, all of which is maintained by St Peter’s own staff and children.
It is a great joy to us that a website can provide real benefit to those who chooses a career path which is an absolute must in today’s society, but often not recognised as such. CBSA are proud to be in some small way associated with such people, and to have made their work day a little easier.
